People can’t find leadership. From the office to the churches and from politics to homes, leadership is gradually dissipating into thin air. I have had a stint with the corporate world from entry level to executive roles and my question remains; where is Leadership? I am not the kind of leadership authority who will ask, what leadership is. As a Lecturer in Strategic Leadership and Management and a Corporate Consultant for that matter, I will express my opinion, of course! My interrogation on leadership is to ask the question; where is leadership? The world, institutions and homes are looking for answers. Don’t be interested in scratching the surface if you want to understand the rudiments of leadership. Leadership is a multifaceted occurrence connecting the actions of a leader, the follower and the situation. To get tasks done effectively, efficiently and successfully, the leader must use the right models of motivation to stimulate follower actions to fix situations.

Although leadership is about winning (Welch & Welch 2005); winning is not a destination. You have to win consistently. You have to unfailingly achieve or deliver set objectives. That is leadership. It’s about mapping out strategies and showing character with courage and passion to lead a team toward a goal (even if you have to make ten attempts to win). It’s tenacity. It is responsibility. It’s about seeing the light in the dark. !is book should remind leaders to focus on the bigger picture. Leaders must learn and read to lead. A leader must be deep. Leaders don’t roar at the seashore. They guffaw in the middle of the ocean. A leader blends the skill of being far and near. J.C Maxwell hinted that ‘a leader must be close to the people and far from the people’. When you are close to the team, you learn from the team and they learn from you. When you are far from them, you hold the vision and you inspire them to follow you to greatness.
